Kikuto Sakagawa is born on the Hokkaido Island in the north of Japan.
Since his childhood, he is interested in the traditional Japanese Arts, such as dancing, singing, the Shamisen and Ikebana. He received his first Ikebana diploma from the Ikenobo school of Sapporo. But it was the Adachi school in Tokyo which handed out his Masters diploma.
Since 1976 Master Sakagawa lives in Germany, teaches and exhibits in different European countries.
In 1987, Master Kikuto Sakagawa founds his own Ikebana school "Kaden Ryu" and organizes yearly several seminars which attract French, German and Swiss students. Seeing himself as an ambassador of Japanese traditional culture his goal is to awaken interest for Japanese flower arrangements by organizing large exhibitions. He has already published two works on Ikebana (Ed SAEP and UMSCHAU)
